Exhibits
The Elkhorn Valley Museum is home to many permanent exhibits including the Square Turn Tractor, the Johnny Carson Gallery, the Notable Locals, the Tack Shop, and the Double K Chicken. The LaBarre Gallery is now home to the Nebraska Music Hall of Fame.
EVM also offers rotating exhibits which change every 12-16 weeks. Currently on view in the Bentz Exhibit Hall is our exhibit, Celebrating 100 Years at Norfolk Junior High on view through August 26th.
Upcoming Exhibits
The Unchosen Ones – R.J.Kern is an American artist and National Geographic Ag photographer whose work investigates ideas of home, ancestry, and a sense of place. The Unchosen Ones depicts the bloom of youth and the mettle of the young people who grow up on farms, reminding us how resilient children can be when confronted with life’s inevitable disappointments. Opening Reception September 8th at 5pm. On view until October 28th.
Rooted In Faith: Heritage Churches of the Elkhorn Valley: Join us for an historical explanation of ten notable places of worship from throughout the Elkhorn River Valley. Each was chosen to demonstrate how people arrived and thrived in the region from a variety of perspectives. From early humble wood-framed structures to the brick-and-mortar edifices later soaring over our prairies and urban landscapes, these houses of prayer represent where our communities came from as well as the hopes and dreams of their people and the bonds of connection that intertwined them. On view November 10th through February 2nd
Toys of Yesteryear: This mini-exhibit will showcase pieces from EVM’s toy collection. Take a glimpse of toys from across the ages. Remember the joy they brought and the imagination they engaged. On view November 14th through February 9th.
